In the first episode of a new HPS Insights special series on health disparities and minority health, in partnership with the Rare Disease Diversity Coalition (RDDC), HPS Partner, Stacy Kerr, is joined by Tammy Boyd of the Black Women's Health Imperative and special guest Dr. Elena Rios, President and CEO of the National Hispanic Medical Association. During the conversation Dr. Rios shares more about the work being done to help improve Hispanic health outcomes, the evolution of healthcare access and social determinants of health, and the impact of COVID-19 on Hispanic communities. Dr. Rios also discusses her work with RDDC and the policies that need to be put in place to help improve health outcomes, diagnose and treat those with rare diseases, and improve economic mobility across the country.
